Who else went a bit crazy this Black Friday? I’ve stocked up on some essentials, and taken the opportunity to add lots of new products to my collection, which I can’t wait to play with! Let’s dig into what I bought this year.
Starting with the very top of my wishlist! Unfortunately, it seems that Urban Decay had run out of their Perversion mascara, which meant I couldn’t stock up. I did manage to get my hands on a new bottle of Naked Skin Foundation, which was down from £28 to £22.80, and a travel size of their All Nighter Setting Spray, down from £10 down £8.
After last year’s ordeal, when Beauty Bay’s website couldn’t cope with the amount shopping their Black Friday sale, they learnt from their mistakes, and started their sale a whole week early. And like a lot of people, I got sucked in and made multiple orders.
Order number one saw me ticking two items: the BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Palette, which was half price at £9, and the tiny Sigma Beauty E36 Blending Brush, down to £8.23 from £11.75. Good quality brushes can really start adding up, so a sale is always a good opportunity to stock up on them.
Order number 2 offers a little more variety! Unfortunately, by this point, the RCMA No Colour Powder had sold out, but that only gave me an excuse to finally try something out from up and coming Italian brand Nabla, in the form of their Close Up Baking & Setting Powder Translucent. Down to £11.19 down from £16, I’m pretty excited to start playing with this one!
Of course, I couldn’t say no to some of LA Splash’s beautiful packaging. After much debating, I chose their Sinfully Angelic Lipgloss in the shade Afriel Angel Of Youth, down from £9 to £6.65, as well as a Wickedly Divine Eyeliner in the shade Patronus, £8.57 instead of £12.25, both from LA Splash. Oh, and I couldn’t stop myself from throwing in one of these MyKitCo My Flawless Blender Digit, which was £4,89 instead of £7. I did feel a little mislead by the fact that the picture on the website shows two of them, so I’m happy I picked it up on offer!
Nip and Fab
Technically, a pre-Black Friday order, Nip and Fab discounted their Kale Fix Moisturiser to just £5 back in November (instead of £19.95), and were throwing in some Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads in too! It seemed silly to say no. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I’m not sure it works as well as their No Needle moisturiser did for me, but I am excited to try the pads after hearing a lot about them over the past year.
A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be accepted on OhMyGlitter’s affilitate program. The indie brand’s palette are all so beautiful it was hard to choose which one to pick up for myself, but this bundle seemed like a pretty good place to start! I picked up the Celebrity Nudes and the Pot of Gold palettes for £30, so look out for a review in the new year!

The Body Shop
Having run out of toner, I was trying to find a new one that didn’t contain alcohol in its list of ingredients; apparently, that’s not actually that easy. But after a lot of searching, I did manage to find this affordable option from The Body Shop for £8, in the form of their Aloe Vera Toner for Sensitive Skin, which came with 40% off for Black Friday. It definitely feels a lot more gently on my skin than any toners I’ve used previously, so this one may be a repurchase once I run out.
While I didn’t manage to get my hands on all the Real Techniques brushes I wanted, I did manage to grab the Eye Detail and Define Eye Shadow Make-Up Brush Duo after it came down to *£4.20 on Amazon. Even without this discount, it’s currently still cheaper than the £10.99 it retails for at Boots. The L’Oréal Brow Artist Xpert is still reduced *down to £4.66, so I was finally able to grab it in the shade 102. Never underestimate Amazon when it comes down to a beauty bargain!
With Christmas just around the corner, I had to get myself some cosy new pyjamas! These one are from Boux Avenue and came in a cute little storage bag. With 20% off at Asos, they came to just £16.
I had managed to stay clear of New Look’s website, but after all of my shopping on Friday morning, an advert came up on my screen in the evening showing me these cute dungarees or just £8! Ok, so they’re a little tight at the moment, but they’ve actually motivated me to make sure I am exercising regularly, even in the run up to all the Christmas food.
And to finish everything off, this gorgeous Devotion set from Regal Rose! I had never purchased anything from them before, and had been eyeing these up for a while, struggling to decide whether to go for the ring or the necklace. But the set coming down from £64 to £44.80, I ended up with both of them.
Overall, a pretty successful Black Friday! Look out for reviews of these products in the New Year, and lots of looks using all these gorgeous new palettes. And make sure you don’t miss out on my upcoming favourites post to round up 2018.
